How do I apply to Job Corps?

1. Getting Started with Your Application

Now that you've expressed your interest in Job Corps, you're ready to begin your application.

You will need to create an account to begin your application. If you already have an account, you can simply sign in. If not, follow these steps to create your account:

Enter your email address. Important: Make sure you enter the exact same email that you used when expressing interest in Job Corps. The emails must match.

  • Check your email and select the verification link.
  • Create a password.

Choose a way to verify your identity (for example, a code sent to your phone). Remember this verification method—you’ll need it every time you log in to keep your account secure. authentication selection.png

When you log in, you’ll see the MyJobCorps homepage. You’ll also see your “To Do” list, showing all the tasks you still need to complete. Once you finish a task, it will move to the “Completed” section.

2. Filling out Your Application

You’ll be asked to provide information about yourself, like:

  • Where you live
  • Your education
  • Your job history 
  • Additional personal information

If you're under 18, you might need help from a parent or guardian with some of the questions. Your Admissions Representative can also assist you. Note: You can save your information and return to your application at any point by navigating to the MyJobCorps homepage.

Here's the information you’ll need to provide:

  • Account Information: This is the basic information you gave when you first expressed interest in Job Corps. Double-check it, especially your name (it should match your government ID).

  •  Questionnaire: You’ll be asked about your living situation, education, work history, and more. Figure 4A.png

  • Documents: Job Corps requires certain documents to verify your information. You can submit your application without them; However, it is recommended to submit documents alongside your application if they are available.
    Note: You will need to work with your Admissions Representative to submit additional documents if requested.

  • Agreements: You will need to sign forms electronically that explain the rules and expectations of Job Corps. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian may need to sign as well. Your Admissions Representative will work with you to receive signatures from your parent or guardian.

3. Submitting Your Application

Once you’ve filled out everything, you’ll be asked to review your application. Make sure all the information is correct. If you need to make any changes, you can update it before you submit.
Important: After you submit your application, you can’t make changes unless you contact your Admissions Representative.
When you’re ready, select the “Review and Submit” button to submit your application.

Once submitted, your Admissions Representative will review your application. Your Admissions Representative will be in touch once a decision is made. Take note of your application tracking number for reference.
Note: If more information is needed during the review process, your Admissions Representative will contact you.

  • Select "Save & Continue" at the bottom of each page to save any entered information. You can access MyJobCorps at any time to continue entering information prior to officially submitting your application.
  • View your homepage to track your tasks and to see what actions are left to complete.
  • Hover over the blue “Learn More” text to learn more about a particular question.
  • Translate MyJobCorps to Spanish by selecting the "Español" button located on the top right of the screen.
  • Double-check the accuracy of your information to avoid possible delays.

4. After you submit your application information

Once you’ve submitted your application, there are a few more steps:

If you’re accepted into Job Corps, your Admissions Representative will reach out to help you with the next steps:

  • Choose a Training Area: Select a career training programarea that matches your goals and interests. Your Admissions Representative will help you decide which Job Corps campus is right for you.
  • Complete a Health Questionnaire: Job Corps provides basic medical care, so you’ll work with your Admissions Representative to accommodate any health conditions, if needed.
  • Discuss Arrival: Pick a date to arrive at the Job Corps center and work with them to arrange your travel plans.

  • Make sure Job Corps emails don’t end up in your spam or junk folders.
  • Read your center’s rules before you arrive. If you need a copy, ask your Admissions Representative.
